Although this type of mural is not usually my style :) , the project was especially meaningful to me because it's in the room that my brother DC and his wife, Vanessa, use for their after-school program called Pahokee Kingdom Kidz located in Pakokee, Florida. When my brother first asked me to consider painting a "graffiti" style logo for their name, I shied away at the idea for sure. If you take one look at the rest of my blog or website, you would see that my work is pretty earthy and classic. Needless to say, a "hood" logo mural was an interesting challenge!
DC and I grew up obsessed with conquering the Super Mario 3 game as well as Duck Hunt and Donkey Kong. We tried to let old school video graphics inspire the cloud, and we chose a youthful, legible graffiti font.
I am honored to have decorated a room where so much good (education, games, Bible lessons & love) as well as chaos and craziness is going to happen! I am so proud of you, DC & Vanessa, and I love you with all my heart! Thank you for inviting me to be a blessing to your ministry. Great things are going to happen through you two!
(**Thank you Jenny for using YOUR gifts to display mine. Sister-Brother-Sister love :) )
