I first met Cristina & Eric while working at Brewzzi's (a restaurant in downtown West Palm) about four years ago. It didn't take very long for me to grow close to Cristina. She is such a blast to be around! As Cristina and I started to hang out outside of work, we talked about a ton of things. (We quickly learned that we can both talk a LOT!) One subject we often ended up talking about was the subject of faith, God and the mystery of it all. I often left those talks praying for Cristina, for her to know and experience the love of God through a relationship with him. This went on for a few years. I continued to pray for Cristina, but in my heart I must admit that the thought of Cristina's salvation seemed too good to be true. And that Eric's salvation seemed impossible (based on what I deemed impossible in my very small reality.)
I am thankful that God is not only good, but he loves to accomplish the impossible in our realities. In summer 2009, Cristina & Eric gave their lives to Jesus Christ! They met an amazing couple Chip & Britt Stalling (who moved to Palm Beach Gardens and planted a church called "Discovery Church") and through these relationships they began to study the Bible and grow in their relationships with God. When I met Cristina & Eric, they had been dating a few years and lived together, which they did up until this point in this story. In their exclusive time with the Lord, they both felt convicted about living together while being unmarried, and despite financial strain, not to mention the emotional and physical factors, moved into separate places. The thing that probably floors me about their story the most is that once they were convicted about living together, they didn't just decide to get married. They waited over a year before making any steps towards marriage in order to seek God and his will for their lives!
When Cristina & Eric got engaged I was ecstatic!!! They are amazing people! I felt that the Lord gave me this verse to describe their story and how he feels about them: "No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us and his love is brought to full expression in us."I painted the verse on a canvas using Cristina's wedding colors, charcoal grey and yellow.
I can't wait to DANCE at their wedding!!
I had a lot of fun with taking pictures, so I hope you enjoy this piece from all angles :)
